YouTube Rolls Out ‘Incognito Mode’ For Android App, To Disappear Your Watch History

Google is bringing ‘Incognito Mode’ — which enables users to browse the web via Chrome in private without their search histories being logged — to the YouTube app on Android devices.

According to 9 To 5 Google, the company began A/B testing the feature in May on both the YouTube and YouTube Music apps, so that users could browse without their watch history being tracked. Incognito officially rolled out wide yesterday evening.

Once enabled, users can find Incognito at the bottom of the ‘Account’ page, where the ‘Sign Out’ button now also features a ‘Turn On Incognito’ option. When Incognito is disabled, all activity from the previous session becomes cleared and users are returned to the last account that they used to sign in. In addition to Incognito, YouTube also offers an option within settings where users can pause their watch and search histories — and therefore remain logged in to continue receiving suggested videos, notes 9 To 5 Google.
