Venezuelan YouTubers Maiah Ocando, Gabriel Torrelles Adapt Hit Podcast Into Comedy Special

With web series like Visto Bueno, Venezuelan creators Maiah Ocando and Gabriel Torrelles have received millions of views, brought more than 660,000 subscribers to Ocando’s YouTube channel, and snagged a total of six Streamy Award nominations. Now, Ocando and Torrelles are taking their brand of content to new formats. They have announced A Handbook For Failure, a comedy special based off their podcast No Sé, Dime Tú (I Don’t Know, You Tell Me).

In their podcast, which has spanned 67 episodes since its 2017 launch, Ocando and Torrelles crack jokes (often at each other’s expense), talk about the news, and share “the tragicomedy of two immigrants searching for the American Dream,” according to a press release. Emboldened by the reception their audio program received, Ocando and Torrelles took their show on the road in May 2018. Their event series, titled No Sé, Dime Tour, has featured live recordings of their podcast in cities like Mexico City. It is those recordings that form the basis of A Handbook For Failure

While Ocando and Torrelles haven’t yet announced how they plan to premiere their special, they are continuing to host tour dates across the world. Tickets for their upcoming show in Miami can be purchased via Eventbrite.

Beyond their podcast and their special, Ocando and Torrelles have expanded their digital presence across a number of projects. Ocando launched a show called Dear Maiah as part of Fullscreen and AT&T’s Hello Lab initiative, and she appeared on the NBC Universo channel as part of a 2015 series called Vive El Verano.
