Project Name: Wish Weasel
Asking For: $5,000 through Indiegogo
Amount Raised Thus Far (At Time Of Post): $1,207
Days Remaining In Campaign (At Time Of Post):
60Description: The fate of the world — or, at least, of Queens — rests on the shoulders of a magical mammal. Dan McNamara is the creator of Wish Weasel, a project that involves puppets, space, and plenty of exciting effects.
The titular character in Wish Weasel is a puppet, albeit one with loads of fantastical abilities. In the project’s canon, the Wish Weasel has arrived on Earth and must team up with a human companion in order to protect the Big Apple from a horde of space demons. Along the way, viewers will meet a number of side characters, all of whom promise to be colorful in both the literal and figurative senses.
McNamara plans to use the money he raises to polish his production and his special effects. His show has the potential to be the best ever project about a puppet wearing a fez.
Creator Bio: McNamara is a web video veteran who has screened several projects at NYTVF. He created the web series The Bear, The Cloud, And God for Frederator in 2009.
Best Perk: A $30 contribution will get you a Wish Weasel “membership card,” which is stylized to look like a Yu-Gi-Oh card. Feel free to pull it out of your pocket if you need guidance in a tough spot.
Why You Should Fund It: McNamara is a seasoned creator with several well-done shows under his belt, and his latest idea is inventive, unusual, and wholly original. A sci-fi adventure about an omnipotent weasel-puppet may sound weird, but it’s a concept that’s just odd enough to work, so long as its creator can secure the funding he needs from the internet at large.
