U.K. Fitness Creator Carly Rowena Announces New Book, International Health Retreats

U.K. fitness creator Carly Rowena is gearing up for a massive 2018, including a second book release, added stops on her international retreat series, and a new range of fitness merch, the 30-year-old tells Tubefilter.

Rowena, whose recipe, workout, and lifestyle vlogs have earned her 400,000 subscribers and 27 million lifetime views, self-published her first book, the Get Gorgeous Guide, last year. It sold 3,000 copies during its launch week, and a follow-up with more tips will arrive this summer. Rowena also hosts wellness retreats at far-flung locales across the globe, where she imparts her wisdom and personally guides fans through their own health journeys. Having just climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, for instance, next month Rowena will head to a nature lodge in Portugal (tickets are priced at $2,100 apiece). Events in Marrakesh, Los Angeles, and New York are forthcoming.

Rowena also tells Tubefilter that 2018 will see the release of her first line of merchandise, comprising athletic wear and other gym-related items.

As she gears up for new projects, Rowena confirmed that she’s parting ways with Gleam Futures, the U.K. talent management firm that has steered her career since July 2015. “With the fitness and well-being industry constantly evolving, I’ve decided to fully immerse the business side of what I do online in-house with a core team of specialists,” she said. “I’m super excited to share the next chapter with everyone.”

Other bold-faced U.K. creators to have departed Gleam in recent months include Alfie Deyes, Caspar Lee, and Joe Sugg — a noteworthy exodus given that Gleam was an early arriver to the digital scene and has helped cultivate the careers of some of the U.K’s biggest digital stars. Its formidable roster currently includes Zoella and Pixiwoo. Additionally, Rowena is married to fellow fitness star Leon Bustin, whose Lean Machines channel still appears to be signed to the talent firm, per its website.
