Whistle Sports Inks New Deal With Dude Perfect To Develop Long-Form Shows (Exclusive)

Sports-centric digital media network Whistle Sports has forged a new deal with one of its top creator partners — Dude Perfect, a fleet of five best friends who have risen to renown on YouTube for their trick shot videos and other eye-popping feats.

A multi-year pact, signed on Jan. 1, will expand Whistle’s partnership with Dude Perfect to encompass longer-form content ventures, and will also see the Dude Perfect crew — which includes Coby and Cory Cotton, Garrett Hilbert, Cody Jones, and Tyler Toney — serving as brand ambassadors for Whistle. “It’s also the bringing together of the Dude Perfect and Whistle Sports brands through Whistle Sports ‘presented by’ videos on the guys’ YouTube channel,” Whistle president Jeff Urban tells Tubefilter.

Given that Dude Perfect is a cornerstone partner for Whistle Sports, Urban says the deal marks a first-of-its kind relationship — though the company intends to work with other creators in the same way moving forward. The first fruits of the partnership hit YouTube on Monday — a collaboration between Dude Perfect and another Whistle channel, soccer skills-focused F2 Freestylers

. The video, Football vs. Soccer Trick Shots (below), has amassed a stunning 11.4 million views to date and sits at No. 4 on YouTube’s ‘Trending’ feed. Other long-form episodic shows are in development.

“We’ve had such a great relationship with Whistle Sports since day one, collaborating on projects such as Face Off and Bad Joke Telling, and working with powerful brands to produce great campaigns,” Toney said in a statement. “The next step in expanding our relationship is to push to new platforms and new formats.”

Four-year-old Whistle Sports has created shows for Facebook Watch, YouTube Red, and go90, and counts more than 425 million fans across all social platforms. Dude Perfect is the 14th most-subscribed channel on all of YouTube, with 5 billion lifetime views. The guys have also found success in the TV and literary worlds, with a Nickelodeon show and a best-selling book, Go Big.
