YouTube Star Tanya Burr Lands Leading Role In Off West End Theatre Production

Having established herself as a major star on YouTube, Tanya Burr is heading to the theatre. The creator known for her fashion, beauty, and lifestyle content has landed a leading role in Confidence, a play that is set to open on May 23 at London’s Southwark Playhouse.

Confidence is set in a seaside town and focuses on residents who dream of bigger and better lives. Burr will portray a hustler named Ella, and based on the title of the play, viewers can probably expect her to pull some confidence games. Burr’s performance will bring her to the Southwark, which describes itself as “London’s leading off West End theatre.”

Burr, 28, is one of Britain’s most popular YouTube stars. Her videos have brought more than 3.7 million subscribers to her channel. In accepting her newest role, she noted that performing on stage has long been one of her dreams. “I always wanted to act but then YouTube happened, which was a great way to express myself but I wasn’t expecting it to take off in the way that it did,” she said

. “I got so swept up in the YouTube bubble for a good five or six years until I realised how much I needed to get back to acting.”
