YouTube TV Finally Arrives On Roku, Will Launch On Apple TV “Very Soon”

Streaming device maker Roku has added YouTube’s skinny bundle into the mix.

Beginning today, YouTube TV — the video giant’s $35 package of live cable channels — will be available on select Roku devices, including include all Roku TVs, Roku Ultra, Roku Streaming Stick Plus, Roku Express Plus, Roku Premiere Plus, and more. Furthermore, a YouTube rep told CNET that YouTube TV is arriving on Roku competitor Apple TV “very soon.” YouTube TV is already available on Android TV, Xbox One, and Samsung and LG smart TVs.

On Roku, YouTube TV will offer an unlimited cloud DVR, a ‘library’ tab for recorded shows, a ‘home’ tab for recommendations, background playback while browsing, and logins for five different people within one account. “We love TV — from the shows to live sports to the can’t-miss events,” said YouTube TV product management director Christian Oestlien

in a statement. “The way people watch TV is ever-evolving, and expanding our reach through the Roku platform was a great fit.”
