Executive Ezra Cooperstein Leaves Post At Fullscreen To Become President Of Rooster Teeth

After spending more than six years as one of Fullscreen‘s top executives, Ezra Cooperstein is moving on to a new gig. Cooperstein has been named as the president of Rooster Teeth, the media company known for its highly-engaged audience of gaming, sci-fi, pop culture, and animation fans.

Cooperstein is not exactly leaving Fullscreen, since his former employer acquired his new one back in 2014. In his new role, he will oversee the business side of Rooster Teeth, while CEO Matt Hullum and CCO Burnie Burns will continue to lead the company’s content operations. The Austin-based enterprise makes its money through a breadth of revenue streams, include pre-roll ads that play before its videos, subscription fees from diehards who join its premium First program, and ticket sales from live events across the country. It also engages with its fans during RTX, an annual convention that features panels, performances, and other events.

“Rooster Teeth is the model for what a new media company should look like today,” said Cooperstein in a press release. “The company is more than just a content brand. It is first and foremost a passionate community. Rooster Teeth’s 15-year-long relationship with this ever-growing fandom has allowed us to build a diversified, scaled business, and invest in more and bigger programming.”

Cooperstein joined Fullscreen in December 2011, having previously served as the CEO of another digital network, Maker Studios. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he has now moved to Austin and started his new job. While Fullscreen is not expected to refill his exact position, his duties will mostly be handed over to Andy Forssell, a former Hulu exec who joined Fullscreen in 2015.
