Amra Ricketts, a member of the popular Smosh offshoot Smosh Games, has announced his departure from the channel amid multiple allegations of sexual assault.
“Last week, I was accused of some of the worst things imaginable by a group of old friends and former roommates,” Ricketts, who goes by the nickname ‘Flitz’, wrote on Twitter. (See his full statement below). “While I deny all allegations against me, this community — my family at Smosh Games, and the team behind it — means so much to me. I cannot risk this having a negative impact on them. I’m working with a lawyer to disprove all false claims and restore my name, but this is a battle.”
Thirty-year-old Ricketts, who has been with Smosh Games (7.2 million subscribers) since 2014, was accused by self-described transgender non-binary actress/model Raquey Strange
of being coerced into an orgy, according to a Dec. 31 Facebook post. Subsequently, Kotaku reports, several other Facebook users responded to the post backing up Strange’s claims and saying that they had evidence of Ricketts assaulting other women. For instance, YouTube star April ‘AprilEff’ Fletcher tweeted that when she came forward last year with allegations of assault by Toby Turner, she also received word from several women that Ricketts had raped them.On its Twitter account, Smosh Games wrote last Thursday, “Today we say goodbye to our Smosh family member, Flitz. We appreciate your understanding and love you all.”
