The Piano Guys are using their brilliant music to Light The World. That’s the name of the quartet’s latest concert, which benefits a pro-Mormon initiative and will stream live from YouTube Space NY beginning at 5 PM ET on December 12.
With their melodious covers and their sharply-produced music videos, The Piano Guys — consisting of Jon Schmidt, Steven Sharp Nelson, Paul Anderson, and Al van der Beek — have attracted 5.8 million subscribers and received more than 1.3 billion total views. For their Light The World performance, they’ll be joined by several of YouTube’s top singing stars, including Peter Hollens, Taylor Davis, and Tiffany Alvord.
The program includes several tracks from The Piano Guys’ new album, titled Christmas Together. Released back in October, the holiday collection is currently available through retailers like Amazon.
Light The World shares its name with a campaign associated with the Mormon faith, which is aiming to spread the message of Christ ahead of December 25. The four members Piano Guys are all devout members of the LDS church. Their hometown, St. George, Utah, is 70% Mormon. “#LightTheWorld is a worldwide effort to share the light of Jesus Christ through serving, lifting, and helping others,” The Piano Guys wrote on Facebook.
