BroadbandTV Signs Yousef ‘FouseyTube’ Erakat, Bart Baker, And h3h3Productions

BroadbandTV’s latest round of creator signings represents a major coup for the Canada-based digital entertainment network. It has inked deals with Yousef ‘FouseyTube’ Erakat, Bart Baker, and Ethan and Hila Klein — the husband-and-wife duo behind h3h3Productions.

Erakat, who is primarily renowned for his prank videos and vlogs — and who counts 20 million followers across social media — was previously signed to the Studio71 multi-channel network. Music video parody artist Baker (17.8 million combined social followers) was affiliated with Disney’s Maker Studios, while h3h3Productions — who have accumulated roughly 8 million combined followers thanks to their comedy and commentary videos — were formerly working with Complex, according to Variety, which was first to report the signings.

BroadbandTV (BBTV) will work with the trio of channels on advertising initiatives, subscription streaming ventures, app creation, and merchandise. The RTL Group

-owned network’s creator roster also includes electronic music trio Major Lazer, stunt scooter rider Tanner Fox, and LGBT creator Davey Wavey. Earlier this year, RTL said it was exploring strategic alternatives for the 49% stake in BBTV that it doesn’t already own and said it didn’t intend to buy — including a sale or IPO. BBTV was founded by CEO Shahrzad Rafati in 2005.
