Description: The cutthroat world of voice acting is getting its own comedy series. Three Bridges Productions, a media company founded by Catherine Beckett and Lara Goldie, is crowdfunding the budget for Slate Your Name, a series that follows the madness related to a high-profile voice gig.

In the universe of Slate Your Name, a spaceship is looking for the person who will become the voice of its AI system. Four eccentric actors all vie for the role, and judging from the show’s description, they will use a lot more than intonation and inflection in their attempts to top one another. “This outrageous, heartfelt, sci-fi comedy has it all,” reads the show’s Indiegogo page, “hentai, megalomaniacs, space colonization, Perkins… now all it needs is YOU!”

More information about the project is available in its pitch video:

Creator Bio: Three Bridges has established itself by launching short films on social media. One of them, Trish, is a horror movie setup with a twist.

Best Perk: For $75, the Slate Your Name team will meet you in a parking garage and hand you a “mystery gift” that may contain sensitive information. It’s up to you to decide whether you want to wear a disguise to conceal your identity during the handoff.

Why You Should Fund It: The charming indie flick In A World showed that voice acting could form the basis for a compelling comedy, and Slate Your Name now has a chance to add its own effort to that canon. With its past short films, Three Bridges has displayed its ability to create work that is both clever and well-composed, and given that its team already has a pilot in post-production, it is clearly eager to introduce us to its characters. With your help, Slate Your Name‘s will be able to boldly go onto your screen.
