Marijuana-Themed Media Company Merry Jane Gets A Spark From Seth Rogen, Wiz Khalifa

Marijuana-based content, perhaps fueled by increased legal availability of the green stuff in several U.S. states, has seen a surge of popularity over the past year. One company that figures to benefit from that trend is Merry Jane, a cannabis-themed platform co-founded by (you guessed it) Snoop Dogg back in 2015. As first reported by Variety, Merry Jane has unveiled a fresh slate of programming, and it includes contributions from celebrities like Wiz Khalifa and Seth Rogen

Khalifa will be part of an as-of-yet unnamed show that will mix Jackass, American Ninja Warrior, and weed. Rogen’s studio, Point Grey, will produce a show called Talking Buds, which will celebrate specific strains of marijuana and explain their effects. Both Khalifa and Rogen have starred in Merry Jane content before; one of the company’s most popular clips is an instructional video in which Rogen teaches viewers how to roll a proper joint.

“Merry Jane will maintain its long-held tradition of collaborating with entertainment’s biggest names,” Merry Jane co-founder Ted Chung told Variety. “By showcasing the realities of modern culture through insightful and engaging programming, Merry Jane will continue to lead the fight to remove stigmas around cannabis and push for full legalization.”

Release dates for Khalifa and Rogen’s shows have not yet been announced.
