Dana Brunetti And David Beebe Named Keynote Speakers For Buffer Festival

House Of Cards producer Dana Brunetti and digital media executive David Beebe, the former architect behind Marriott’s Content Studio, have been named keynote speakers for this year’s Buffer Festival — a YouTube film festival and industry convention to be held in Toronto this fall.

Brunetti, the Oscar and Emmy-nominated producer behind The Social Network, Captain Phillips, and Fifty Shades Of Grey, will join Canadian TV personality Amber Mac for a fireside chat about a short film competition he’s been running since 2012 titled Jameson First Shot alongside the famed whiskey brand. Beebe, who also co-founded the Disney-ABC Television Group Digital Studio to produce webisodes for Grey’s AnatomyDesperate Housewives, and more, will discuss the intersection between storytelling and brand marketing.

Brunetti and Beebe will kick off Buffer Festival’s ‘Industry Day‘ on Sept. 28, which will comprise a full day of panel discussions and case study presentations by online video thought leaders. Programming is slated to cover, for instance, how facial coding alters the way consumers react to products in influencer videos, how to invest and develop content with YouTube creators, and the future of content marketing.

“We can’t think of two better thought leaders who strive to educate and inspire content creators to take risks in developing stories that are meaningful, compelling, and genuine,” Nina Pikula, executive producer of Buffer Festival’s Industry Day, said in a statement.

The fifth annual Buffer Festival will be held from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 at the Elgin And Winter Garden Theatre Centre. In addition to Industry Day, the festival will also feature premiere screenings, a red carpet gala, and a ‘Creator Day’, where aspiring filmmakers can rub elbows with seasoned industry pros. Creators like Jon Cozart, Timothy DeLaGhetto, and Andrea Russett are expected to attend Buffer Festival this year. Submissions close on Aug. 15.
