Legendary Properties Nerdist, Geek & Sundry Gear Up For Another Big Year At Comic-Con

Geek & Sundry and Nerdist are the two most prominent properties owned by Legendary Digital Networks, and as their shared parent company heads to San Diego for this year’s edition of Comic-Con International, they are both planning to make big impressions at the annual convention. They will headline the sixth annual Conival, which this year will feature plenty of promotion for the eight-month-old SVOD service Alpha.

At Conival, which will begin during the day on Thursday, July 20, will run through Saturday, and will be open to the public, attendees will be able to play games, show off their cosplaying talents, and participate in giveaways. The event will be just one part of a busy Comic-Con schedule for Geek & Sundry and Nerdist, which will each host multiple panels over the course of the weekend.

Conival will be followed by a more exclusive “League of Darkness” party that a press release describes as “Alpha’s inaugural bash.” The SVOD service, launched last November, is targeting exactly the sort of consumers who also show up for Comic-Con, so the annual nerd festival is a logical place where Legendary’s streaming platform can search for new subscribers.
