YouTube How-To Videos Are Best When Expressed As Death Metal Songs

Whether you want to install storm windows, drive a bus, or do just about anything else, you can probably find a how-to video that explains the exact steps you must follow to pick up your new skill. These tutorials tend to be pretty dry, but the team at RiffShop is looking to bring some pizzazz to the genre. The company that describes itself as “the world’s best free online resource for metal songwriting” has recently found success on YouTube with a series of death metal songs that double as how-to videos.

RiffShop posted its first “Things Explained Through Death Metal” video back in April, when it used technical riffs, blast beats, and guttural vocals to help fans choose the right box of cereal at the grocery store. Since then, the series has gotten more practical, with RiffShop’s songsters teaching viewers to drive a stick shift

and tie a tie. The latest episode, concerning the ins and outs of HTML, blew up on Reddit, propelling RiffShop to new heights.
