Whistle Sports is ready to come on and slam, again. The digital media company known for its athletic content has announced a second season of its original series Dunk League on Go90.
Dunk League, which premiered early last year, pits high-flyers against one another in a slam dunking competition, with the winner taking home $20,000. The show’s first season reached 55.5 million fans on Go90 and social media, according to a press release from Whistle Sports, and the second go-round will look to achieve similar heights across 26 fresh episodes.
Go90 will distribute Dunk League through one of its brand new verticals, Go90 Zone. There, Whistle Sports’ above-the-rim competition will live next to a host of other programs that hit categories like sports and comedy.
“We are thrilled that the second season of Dunk League will yet again delight fans on go90,” said Ivana Kirkbride, Chief Content Officer at go90, in the press release. “Our go90 Zone network is predicated on pairing our robust live sports library and strong on-demand offering to create the best content experiences available on mobile and the team at Whistle Sports never fails to help us achieve that.”
An exact release date for Dunk League season two has not yet been released, but the show is expected to make its return at some point in the fall.
