The Young Turks Network Signs ‘Humanist Report’ To Growing Channel Roster

TYT Network, the leading progressive digital news network that’s home to The Young Turks flagship channel, has added The Humanist Report — a fast-growing YouTube destination and podcast — to its roster.

The Humanist Report, launched in 2015 to engage millennials in progressive political discussion, just surpassed 100,000 subscribers and is hosted by activist and political scientist Mike Figueredo. Frequent topics covered include corruption, healthcare, and education. As part of its new relationship with TYT Network, the channel will receive marketing, editorial, and promotional assistance.

“I can’t wait to collaborate with Cenk Uygur and the whole TYT team,” Figueredo, who previously worked with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) to help defeat ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’, said in a statement. “Both TYT and The Humanist Report are aligned on engaging young people in thoughtful and critical political discussions and I look forward to being part of the network.”

Adds TYT Network’s chief business officer Steve Oh: “Mike is one of the sharpest new political minds online and we look forward to exposing his channel to a wider audience.” Another recent addition to TYT Network is The Bill Press Show, which the network signed last November in a bid to increase its presence in Washington, D.C.

TYT Network says it receives over 150 million unique views per month across all platforms, and its shows surpassed 6 billion lifetime views in March. Other popular channels within the network include What the Flick?!, ThinkTank, Pop Trigger, and Nerd Alert.
