YouTube Star Lizzie Velasquez Brings Talk Show ‘Unzipped’ To Fullscreen

The latest series to arrive on the subscription video on-demand (SVOD) service Fullscreen is a talk show that works its creator’s life story into its premise. Lizzie Velasquez is the host of Unzipped, in which she will talk to guests about how beauty standards have influenced their lives and careers both positively and negatively.

Velasquez, born with a rare congenital disease, has faced bullying her entire life based on her appearance. Rather than succumbing to the trolls, she has used the abuse she has endured as the basis for her career as a motivational speaker and YouTube vlogger. Along the way, she has inspired many of her colleagues in the online video community.

Now, with Unzipped, she will explore the concept of beauty standards — which have played a major role in her own life — through the experiences of others. In each episode, she and her guests will “tackle specific issues together all wrapped in the larger theme of finding inner beauty and confidence through clothes,” according to a press release from Fullscreen.

Unzipped, which was first revealed back in January alongside several other creator-driven Fullscreen shows,  is one of several projects Velasquez is developing beyond her YouTube channel. She has also authored a book, Dare To Be Kind, which will be available from booksellers beginning on June 6th.

To watch Unzipped, you’ll need a Fullscreen account. The service’s subscriptions cost $5.99 per month.
