Nick Cannon Is Vlogging On YouTube Now (And He’s Pretty Good At It)

The man who spent eight seasons hosting America’s Got Talent is trying to show he’s got the talent it takes to be a YouTube star. Nick Cannon has launched a vlog series on his YouTube channel in which he dishes on everything from Donald Trump to fast food.

In the three vlogs he has posted so far, Cannon has worn the same outfit, which includes a fortune teller’s hat, white headphones, and aviator sunglasses. He delivers each of his rants in over-the-top fashion, though he has also decided to bleep out the many curse words he fires off. In the intro to his videos, he references his decision to leave his America’s Got Talent gig after have creative differences with NBC. “Motherf**ker went from NBC to the Internet,” he says. “That don’t seem like an upwardly mobile move.”

The vlogs aren’t Cannon’s only foray into the world of YouTube. He is also the creator and star of King of the Dancehall, a feature film that will be released through YouTube Red.

As far as his vlogging style is concerned, it’s not for everyone, but he seems to have the basics of the format down pat. He is shooting his videos with a high-quality camera, urges his viewers to “please subscribe,” and seems to have an innate understanding that if he wants to generate headlines with his YouTube videos, he needs to say controversial things. Perhaps he took some pointers from Timothy DeLaGhetto when the two entertainers were on the set of Wild N’ Out together.
