Weeks after one of Netflix’s historical dramas got the axe, another one is ready to take its place. The trailer has arrived for Frontier, a period piece about the 18th-century North American fur trade that will star Game of Thrones heartthrob Jason Momoa.
Frontier, announced back in 2015, stars Momoa as an outlaw who is looking to break a monopoly in fur trading industry. In the course of his efforts, he’ll often resort to violence, as the show’s recently-launched trailer makes evident.
Many of the new shows Netflix will roll out in 2017 will be unscripted
, but with Frontier, the streaming titan is showing it still has plenty of exciting scripted projects to bring to its viewers as well. Frontier has already premiered in Canada, and that iteration of the show — which we can only assume will be the same as the one that is now arriving worldwide — received some glowing reviews from local publications.Frontier’s first season consists of six episodes. It will be available in all Netflix territories beginning on January 20th.
