Description: At a certain age, if your life is falling apart, it helps to have your “gusband” (aka your gay husband) by your side. That sort of relationship is explored in Alicia J. Rose‘s The Benefits of Gusbandry, a wild and fun comedy web series that is looking to fund three new episodes.

The first season of The Benefits of Gusbandry introduced our two protagonists. There’s Jackie (Brooke Totman) who is over-the-hill but not ready to accept it; she’s joined by River (Kurt Conroyd), who serves as her gay best friend and, sometimes, her enabler. Their relationship turned out to be a wild one, with plenty of off-color jokes to go around.

Season two will feature more fun. The titles of the three new episodes are “Clit Blockers,” “Angry Orgasm,” and “STD Day,” so that should tell you exactly what to expect.

Creator Bio: In addition to her work as a filmmaker, Rose is also a musician and a photographer. Her director’s reel from the previous year is available through Vimeo.

Best Perk: For $75, you can get a Benefits of Gusbandry bumper sticker, along with some special “mystery gifts.”

Why You Should Fund It: The first season of The Benefits of Gusbandry gives us an idea of what we can expect from the second, and the comedy’s first batch of episodes was a lot of fun. As I wrote last year, the show is driven by the well-developed relationship between its two leads, which creates a charming atmosphere. Couple that with a slew of ridiculous situations, and you’ve got a working web series on your hands; that’s what The Benefits of Gusbandry is, and I’m eager to see it continue.
