YouTube Star Lisa Schwartz’s ‘Party Girl’ Arrives On Disney’s Freeform App

Close to two years after its pilot first premiered, Party Girl has arrived in full. The comedy series, which features YouTube star Lisa Schwartz as a party princess who deals with rambunctious children while she’s on the clock and lets loose once she’s off it, is now available through Disney’s Freeform website, the Freeform app, and Hulu.

Party Girl, produced by New Form Digital and Maker Studios, draws from Schwartz’s own life; before she became a YouTube star, she worked as a party princess. Alongside writer Lacey Friedman, she used her experiences as the basis for a comedy project that first premiered within New Form’s February 2015 incubator series. 14 months after that, New Form and Maker shared multiple episodes from the series at the Tribeca Film Festival. Now, in tandem with Freeform (which was known as ABC Family until January 2016), they are bringing a full season to viewers. Here, via the Freefom YouTube channel, is the first episode:

Party Girl unites several of Disney’s properties. Beyond Freeform, the Mouse House also owns Maker Studios (which, in addition to serving as the show’s producer, is also partnered with Schwartz on YouTube) and has a partial stake in Hulu.

“We love working with emerging talent like Lisa who has such an authentic and fresh point of view,” said Karey Burke, EVP of Programming and Development at Freeform, in a press release. “Party Girl is a hilarious show that beautifully portrays the emotional highs and lows of being in your twenties.”

In total, Party Girl’s first season consists of ten episodes.
