Astronauts Wanted, NowThis Present Scenes From The ‘Trumpocalypse’

What will happen if Donald Trump becomes the President of the United States? According to digital content studio Astronauts Wanted and the news distributors at NowThis, Americans should prepare for the Trumpocalypse. That’s the title of a newly-launched web series that can be found on NowThis’ well-trafficked social media network.

Trumpocalypse, which is co-produced by Astronauts Wanted, NowThis, Oddfellows Labs, and Automatik, is animated in a computer-generated 3D style that blows heads out of proportion and gives the series an over-the-top look to match its tone. Across a series of short, fast-paced scenes, we learn how the Trump regime has affected everything from reality TV to Wall Street to transgender access to restrooms. The series is almost too silly to offend anyone, and its fast pace leaves little room to process the most shocking jokes, but there’s no doubt where its creators lie on the political spectrum.

For Astronauts Wanted, Trumpocalypse is an attempt to generate laughs out of an election cycle that has left few people smiling. “For this generation, the line between news and comedy in media has been obliterated,” said Astronauts Wanted Chief Creative Strategist Nick Shore in a press release. “This series simply takes that idea to its absurd conclusion!”

Trumpocalypse can be found on the NowThis Election Facebook page, which has amassed close to 1.5 million followers. New episodes of the outlandish animated comedy will arrive each week leading up to the election on November 8th.
