Machinima Partners With SiriusXM To Launch Daily eSports-Themed Radio Show

Machinima is getting into the satellite radio game. The gamer- and fandom-focused digital network announced today that it has pacted with broadcasting giant SiriusXM to launch a daily radio show titled Machinima’s Inside eSports Radio.

Hosted by StarCraft player and commentator Alex ‘Axeltoss’ Rodriguez and League Of Legends caster Joshua ‘Piscator’ Lee, Inside eSports will be wholly dedicated to the increasingly popular world of competitive gaming. The one-hour show will air at 6:00 p.m. EST every weekday — beginning today — on the Bleacher Report Radio channel, which is dedicated to all things sports.

Rodriguez and Lee will cover gaming news and tournament analysis for a host of first person shooter (FPS), multi-player online battle arena (MOBA), real-time strategy, and fighting games. They will also welcome guests including popular players, celebrity gamers, and even traditional athletes who have dipped their toes into the eSports realm. They will take calls from listeners to further analysis and share tips about how fans can improve their own gaming skills.

This isn’t the first time that Machinima has sought to distribute its programming across traditional media platforms. Earlier this year, the company brought its eSports web series Machinima’s Chasing the Cup to CW’s digital platform, Seed, and aired the finale on The CW television channel — where it became the top-rated eSports show to ever air on TV, according to Machinima. Machinima, which says it network of thousands of creators reaches over 150 million viewers every month, recently overhauled its network of in-house channels, resulting in new programming and a refined focus for each hub.

Sirius, for its part, says it has 30.6 million subscribers worldwide.
