YouTube Star Bart Baker Introduces New Trailer For Feature Film ‘FML,’ Due Out October 7th

On October 7th, Vine stars Jason Nash and Brandon Calvillo will embark on a journey, and as with most road trips, they’ll encounter plenty of oddball characters along the way. Nash and Calvillo are the stars of FML, an “influencer film” that will also feature Bart Baker, Jimmy Tatro, Ry Doon, and several other online video stars.

In FML, Nash and Calvillo will play friends who look to advance their respective careers by travelling across the country and creating video collaborations with everyone they meet along the way. Both stars will riff on their respective social media careers; Calvillo’s character will be a young and immature teenager, while Nash’s will be far too old to be in his line of work.

Nash and Calvillo won’t be the only FML cast members engaging in self-satire. Baker, for example, will portray Mike $wagg, a “morally bankrupt” creator whose favorite activities include drug abuse and scaring old ladies in the park. Baker appeared in-character to introduce the film’s second trailer, which hit YouTube on September 22nd.

Nash and Calvillo initially planned to fund FML through Kickstarter back in 2015. After failing to reach their goal, they eventually teamed up with Digital Riot Media, which is serving as the film’s producer. By parodying social media and including lots of cameos, Nash, Calvillo, and Digital Riot are utilizing themes that have been commonplace in the first wave of influencer films. To see how well they pull off their take, you can download FML from its official website beginning on October 7th. The film can also be pre-ordered for $9.99.
