YouTube Red Premieres ‘Fight Of The Living Dead’ Pilot, Trailer For ‘Single By 30’ Series

YouTube Red has premiered its latest original series — a simulated zombie apocalypse reality competition titled Fight Of The Living Dead, featuring a who’s-who of digital superstars. On the show, the 10 contestants — including VitalyzdTV, FouseyTUBE, Tré Melvin, and Brittani Louise Taylor — must fight their way through an abandoned hospital overrun by zombies. Throughout the course of 72 hours, they must also complete various challenges.

The series is available on BlackBoxTV’s YouTube channel. The studio, which says it is “increasingly focused on virtual environments, and the implications of VR, gaming, and 360 video,” is also behind The Fourth Door, a Joey Graceffa-starring series for Verizon’s go90 platform, as well as a prior Fight Of The Living Dead series that ran in April 2015 starring Graceffa, iJustine, PrankvsPrank’s Jesse Wellens, and more. YouTube Red’s Fight Of The Living Dead was produced by Alpine Labs and Revolver Picture Company.

“It was the scariest and the most intense experience of our lives,” said Fousey, whose real name is Yousef Erakat, by means of introduction

. “I guarantee you will be hooked.”

At the same time, YouTube released the first trailer for the forthcoming Red romantic comedy Single By 30, which is set to premiere on the platform next Wednesday. The eight-episode series starring Glee’s Harry Shum, Jr. and YouTube musician Kina Grannis tells the story of two high school friends who make the promise to marry one another if they are still single at age 30. Single By 30 co-stars fellow digital heavyweights Eric Ochoa, Anna Akana, and Ryan Higa.

Single By 30 is the creation of top YouTube filmmakers Wong Fu Productions, comprising friends and former UC San Diego roommates Philip Wang, Wesley Chan, and Ted Fu. The series was initially developed as part of New Form Digital’s Incubator Series, which mentors and funds digital storytellers as they conceive and produce original pilots.
