GoPro’s 360-Degree Camera Rig To Launch On August 17th

GoPro has always made sure to keep up with relevant online video trends, and its latest development is an appeal to the growing number of digital filmmakers who are shooting 360-degree videos. On August 17th, the camera company will release a six-camera rig called Omni that will allow its users to shoot, edit, and upload spherical videos.

Omni, which has been hinted at since the start of 2016, will be GoPro’s most significant product for 360-degree videomakers to date. While the company has released other spherical camera arrays in the past, its new product is light and easy to use, and it connect to what The Verge calls

a “central brain,” which will collect footage shot with the rig and present it to users in an easy-to-use fashion.
