E! Launching Slate Of Five Facebook Live Shows Airing Every Weekday

The E! Entertainment cable channel, which launched a daily series fittingly dubbed Live From E! on Facebook Live back in March, is doubling down its programming efforts on the burgeoning streaming service. The network will premiere five series set to air every weekday beginning next Monday on Facebook Live, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The shows will roll out gradually, according to the Journal, and E! — which is owned by NBCUniversal — will have the full slate live by September. Streams will premiere at 4 p.m. PST. Initial shows include TV Therapy on Mondays, recounting the week’s highlights in television, as well as So True, So False, begininng Tuesday, Aug. 16 — a pop culture series derived from a popular segment on the nightly E! News television show.

Other series in the works include State Your Case, featuring debates about entertainment franchises, according to the Journal, and Another 15 Minutes

, covering viral videos. Programming could eventually be distributed across YouTube and Periscope as well, and E! News’ EVP and GM, John Najarian, told the Journal that the company is talking to advertisers about brand integration opportunities. (While Facebook Live doesn’t currently have an established ad model, the company confirmed earlier this week that is is experimenting with mid-roll ads within streams — for which it could eventually split revenues with publishing partners.)

Najarian added that E!’s initial experimentation with Live From E! on Facebook has been paying off in spades. The show, which airs weekdays at 9:30 a.m. PST and is shot entirely on an iPhone 6s Plus, amasses roughly 150,000 views every day. E!’s future efforts on Live will similarly aim to capitalize on the “communal nature of Facebook Live,” Najarian told the Journal.
