Awesomeness Films has announced the third feature it will bring to YouTube’s premium subscription service, YouTube Red. Production has begun on We Love You, which stars YouTube prankster Yousef “fouseyTUBE” Erakat and Dear White People’s Justin Dobies as two men who share mutual affection for a woman played by Vine star Lele Pons. As with some other Awesomeness Films productions, We Love You will feature a romantic triangle that will spiral out of control in comedic fashion. In order to resolve their shared interest in Callie (Pons), Ford (Erakat) and Noah (Dobies) attempt to date her at the same time. Hijinks will surely ensue.
“We Love You is a contemporary love story with a comedic twist. It is the kind of film, supported by a cast of talented actors, that we know our audience loves,” said Matt Kaplan, President of Awesomeness Films, in a press release. “We are thrilled to be producing We Love You in conjunction with YouTube Red.”
The We Love You announcement comes seven weeks after Awesomeness Films’ Dance Camp, starring Meg DeAngelis, launched as one of YouTube Red’s first four original programs. Another project from the team at AwesomenessTV, Foursome, will join Dance Camp on YouTube Red on March 30th, with Jenn McAllister and Logan Paul co-starring.
As with other major Awesomeness productions, We Love You will be replete with YouTube and Vine stars. Beyond Erakat and Pons, the movie’s other cast members include Ray William Johnson and Lauren Elizabeth Luthringshausen. Huck Botko is directing. Production began last week on location in South Carolina.
No release date for the film has been announced, though whenever it arrives, viewing it will require a YouTube Red subscription. YouTube’s premium, ad-free service currently costs $9.99 per month.
