DanceOn’s Junior Dancers Get Down On Go90

The latest producer contributing to the recent wave of content on Verizon’s Go90 app is DanceOn. The dance network, known for the high-energy videos it produces across YouTube and beyond, has announced Dance-Off Juniors, a reality competition program that will pit young dancers against one another for a chance to win $5,000.

In each episode of Dance-Off Juniors, three young performers will compete across a series of challenges, which will test both their freestyle moves and choreography skills. A panel of judges, including YouTube stars Matt Steffanina (who will also mentor the contestants) and Todrick Hall, will ultimately select a winner, who will claim the $5,000 prize. In total, Dance-Off Juniors’ first season will include ten of these 20-minute episodes.

“DanceOn aims to elevate rising stars of music and dance through engaging, high quality programming. We have so many talented kids in our network, we realized our next step was to produce a mobile-first competition series for them,” said DanceOn CEO Amanda Taylor

in a press release. “We’ve assembled an incredible group of contestants, some of which dance for the biggest names in music including Katy Perry, Missy Elliott, and Mariah Carey. We’re confident that every week, viewers will be blown away by their undeniable talent and passion.”

Dance-Off Juniors, boiled down to its essence, is a combination of several successful conventions from DanceOn’s previous productions. The network has seen great success with a competition program featuring YouTube stars (Dance Showdown), and it also spotlighted adorable young dancers as part of a campaign it ran based around the popular song “Whip/Nae Nae.”

On Go90, Dance-Off Juniors will be the first available reality competition series, but it won’t hold that title for long; the mobile platform will also host The Runner, an upcoming show whose executive producers include Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
