Anthony Davis Stars In New Web Series Produced By Hybrid Media Company Cycle

Fresh off the most dominant performance of the NBA season, Anthony Davis is exploring the roots of his home city’s culture. The New Orleans Pelicans’ big man is the figure at the center of AD All Day, a new web series from media company Cycle.

AD All Day purports to be an examination of Davis’ off-the-court life. In its first episode, it follows the 6’10” all-star as he travels into New Orleans’ inner city and meets with Semaj Matthews, a highly-touted basketball prospect who is currently in his sophomore year of high school. Along the way, viewers are told the importance of basketball for young men like Matthews while also learning about Davis’ own upbringing in Chicago. If you liked Stay Melo, Vice Sports’ docuseries starring Carmelo Anthony, you’ll probably appreciate AD All Day as well.

Cycle touts itself as a hybrid media company that lives in the space between talent agency and production studio. It represents its client (such as Davis) by building pieces of content around them. “Stars are now brands, and AD is a person worth building around and believing in,” said Jason Stein

, CEO at Cycle, in a press release. “AD’s digital reach rivals mainstream media sites, but more so he brings a level of authenticity that traditional media lacks, and he is determined to make a difference in society. Our simple goal is to harness the disruptive, natural and honest approach AD exhibits in life, and deliver compelling content that inspires a generation.”

Ad All Day is billed as Cycle’s first original series, and it’s high-quality stuff. If you’re a basketball fan, the first episode will surely hold your attention. Keep an eye on Cycle’s Facebook page if you’d like to catch new installments as they arrive.
