DigiTour has brought on a new face to help handle its financial operations. The company, which hosts live events featuring digital stars, has hired Jonah Minton as Chief Revenue Officer.
Minton will be charged with growing DigiTour’s revenue and developing the event company’s overall financial strategy. The new executive will also likely have a hand in DigiTour’s burgeoning digital sales and merchandise subscription initiatives. Minton comes to DigiTour from Fullscreen, where he was Senior VP and Head of Sales until January 2015 (his old position was filled by Kevin McGurn.)
DigiTour’s CEO and co-founder Meridith Valiando Rojas announced Minton’s hire. According to Variety, Rojas said the new executive’s history with Fullscreen “makes him intimately familiar with our young audience, and we will rely on his guidance as we continue to grow.”
“DigiTour is pioneering the rapidly evolving intersection between live events and digital media for the teen youth market, and I am very excited to join the team and help the company on its path to exponential growth,” added Minton.
DigiTour has only been around since 2010, but since then the company has exploded in popularity. The live event brand early on attracted investors Ryan Seacrest and Condé Nast’s parent company Advance Publications. DigiTour sold 120,000 tickets for 60 shows in 2014. For 2015, the event company is more than doubling the amount of shows to 141 and tripling the amount of tickets available at 350,000.
