Netflix Announces April 26 Release Date For Food Series ‘Chef’s Table’

Netflix has set a release date for its upcoming docu-series project. Chef’s Table, from filmmaker David Gelb, will debut on the streaming platform on April 26, 2015.

Announced back in September 2014, Chef’s Table is a six-part series which takes a look at the lives and culinary techniques of six of the world’s greatest chefs. Each one hails from a different location: Massimo Bottura from Italy, Niki Nakayama from Los Angeles, Francis Mallmann from Argentina, Magnus Nilsson from Sweden, Dan Barber from New York, and Ben Shewry from Australia.

Gelb, who previously directed the sushi chef profile documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi

, is an executive producer for Chef’s Table alongside Andrew Fried, Brian McGinn, and Matt Weaver. Dane Lillegard will co-executive produce for the series’ production company Boardwalk Pictures.

Chef’s Table joins a growing list of documentary-style projects Netflix is adding to its library over the next few years. The streaming platform recently picked up the Rashida Jones-produced film Hot Girls Wanted, about the mistreated women within the amateur porn industry. Additionally, Netflix teamed up with Leonardo DiCaprio to exclusively stream future documentaries from his production house Appian Way.

Tune in to Netflix on April 26 to catch the delectable-looking Chef’s Table.
