Larry King, Andy Cohen, Others Give Grace Helbig Hosting Advice

Grace Helbigwho boasts over 2 million subscribers on her YouTube channel may be an expert when it comes to the daily vlog format, but she doesn’t know as much about hosting a show on traditional television. To help her prepare for her upcoming E! talk show The Grace Helbig Show, she sat down with well-known TV hosts such as Larry King and Andy Cohen to ask for advice about running a talk show.

Helbig met with legendary TV host King, Cohen of Bravo’s Watch What Happens: Live, Joel McHale of E!’s The Soup, and Chris Hardwick of Comedy Central’s @midnight (which just debuted its own interactive Instagram series). The YouTuber and comedienne receives plenty of funny tips; Cohen, for example, tells Helbig he distracts bad interviewees by sweating, while Hardwick recommends holding up something she made to liven up the situation. Helbig also gains sage advice from her fellow hosts; King says the key to his success is that he doesn’t know anything.

The Grace Helbig Show was officially announced in January 2015 after being in production and development for several months. According to a release, the YouTuber’s show will involve plenty of internet-related segments (such as comparing browser histories with her guests), as well as casual, laid-back interviews (a format reminiscent of Helbig’s video podcast Not Too Deep) in odd locations like gas stations.

E! announced The Grace Helbig Show would arrive on the network on April 3, 2015. Make sure to tune in on that date to see how well Grace applies her fellow hosts’ advice.
