Marvel’s ‘Double Agent’ Offers ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Companion

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron trailers may be breaking the Internet, but at the same time, the comic book studio has another new project worth noting. The superhero-themed studio has offered Double Agent, a web series companion to the ABC TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Double Agent is a fairly straightforward web companion that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the production of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which is currently in the middle of its second season. Marvel adds a wrinkle to this formula by framing the companion through the eyes of a “double agent” who infiltrates the series set.

Double Agent is branded by Lexus, which becomes abundantly clear in the first minute of the opening episode:

This isn’t the first time Marvel has offered up an espionage-themed companion for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Before the series’ season one debut, viewers were privy to Declassified content related to the Avengers spinoff.

All five episodes of Double Agent will see release via ABC’s website.
