YouTuber Devin Supertramp To Debut Three-Screen Project At Cinequest

Devin Graham (better known as Devin Supertramp to YouTube viewers) made the jump from online video to the big screen, and his big screen project is so big that it requires three screens. The YouTuber, who boasts over 2.8 million subscribers, will debut a special project made for the Barco Escape format at the Cinequest Film Festival on March 1, 2015.

Digital cinema projector company Barco introduced its new Escape three-screen theater format

back in March 2014. The setup includes digital projectors which show clips on three different screens, one in the middle and one on each side, to create a 270-degree panoramic effect. On September 19, the film The Maze Runner became the first movie to be prepared and shown in select theaters using Barco’s Escape technology.

Barco will present the Escape format during Cinequest’s first-ever “Future of Film Showcase,” hosted by the projector company’s CinemaVangelist and 20th Century Fox’s Futurist Ted Schilowitz. Graham, known for his travel and live-action videos on YouTube, will debut his unnamed Escape project during the Showcase, alongside several other contributions from Cinequest directors.

A Barco rep noted the Escape collaboration with Devin Supertramp is hopefully the first of many as the projector company seeks to involve digital video stars in future projects.
