Amazon Renews Four Original Children’s Series For Second Seasons

Amazon Studios is bringing back some of its current original titles for kids. The production house has greenlit the second seasons of Tumble Leaf, Creative Galaxy, Annedroids, and Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street.

Amazon will debut new season two episodes for all four original children’s series sometime in the near future on Prime Instant Video for Prime members to stream. According to a release, Tumble Leaf, Creative Galaxy, and Gortimer have done well for themselves, boasting the honor of being some of the most-streamed kids’ programming on Amazon’s offering. In addition, Annedroids was honored by the Parents’ Choice Foundation.

Tumble Leaf, Creative Galaxy, Annedroids and Gortimer have all experienced a tremendous response from our customers and we’re excited to bring them back for another season,” said Tara Sorensen, Head of Kids Programming for Amazon Studios. “Working with such remarkably talented and impactful creators in both the preschool and kids six to 11 space, it’s exciting to see where the storylines and characters will take us for another season.”

The preschool-aged Tumble Leaf comes from Community’s Drew Hodges and features the fox Fig and his caterpillar friend Stick learning about nature as they embark on an adventure. Creative Galaxy features the alien artist Arty who teaches children how to solve problems through art; the show includes step-by-step craft projects at the end of each episode. Dino Dan’s J.J. Johnson created Annedroids, all about the female scientist Anne who makes new discoveries with her android assistants. Finally, Gortimer was one of the original series pilot submissions Amazon selected in 2014, and features three best friends who live not-so-ordinary lives on Normal Street.

Amazon isn’t the only company jumping into the children’s programming rage. Netflix has several of its own original series for younger ages, including the recently-released The Adventures of Puss in Boots. And on February 23, Google launched a kids’ version of YouTube for children to safely browse and enjoy family-friendly videos.

Current Amazon Prime members can watch season one of all four renewed kids’ shows via the Amazon Instant Video app for select connected devices (including TVs and mobile phones), or through amazon.com/originals.
