ScrewAttack has more than just five new web series in the works for 2015. The entertainment production studio popular for gaming-themed content, boasting over 1.6 million YouTube subscribers, and owned by YouTube multi-channel network Fullscreen will open registration for its 2015 ScrewAttack Gaming Convention (SGC) and host a celebratory live stream on February 16, 2015.
SGC is a gaming-centric event featuring live concerts, table-top gaming, cosplay competitions, how-to panels, and industry speakers and panelists. This year, SGC has enlisted fellow gaming YouTubers Rooster Teeth (also a part of Fullscreen’s talent network), Game Theorists, and the newly-formed Kinda Funny Games as special guests. SGC will take place from July 17-19 at the Embassy Suites Dallas-Frisco in Frisco, Texas. Registration for the event opens on Monday, February 16 on sgconvention.com.
To celebrate the opening of registration, ScrewAttack plans to host a 24-hour live stream event undoubtedly full of gaming sessions and activities. The digital festivities start at 12 PM CST on February 16. You can tune into the production house’s stream via ScrewAttack’s Twitch channel
.SGC was originally held in 2009 and 2010 before going on a three-year hiatus. SGC 2013 and 2014 were held in Dallas, but for 2015, ScrewAttack moved its convention to Frisco. The suburb of Dallas-Ft. Worth is the future home of the Videogame History Museum.
“SGC is an exclusive, bad ass, three-day-long party. It’s our opportunity to go face to face with our community, and that’s why it’s probably my favorite thing we do all year,” said Craig Skistimas, general manager of ScrewAttack, in a release. “We keep the size of the event small on purpose to continue to keep SGC as intimate as possible. I’m so excited to announce some of this year’s lineup and also our move to Frisco, which is a perfect fit for the SGC fan base and culture.”
