Netflix Drops Teaser Trailer For Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’

Netflix is ready to show the world it has the uncanny abilities to make a high-quality superhero series. The streaming video service just debuted the teaser trailer for its upcoming Marvel show Daredevil.

Uploaded to Marvel’s YouTube channel, the Daredevil teaser starts off with blind lawyer Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox) going to a Catholic confession. Images of drug deals, murders, and other gritty circumstances appear on screen as Murdock explains to the priest why he’s been preoccupied as of late. The Daredevil teaser trailer then reveals Murdock donning the titular character’s costume as his voice-over tells the priest, “I’m not seeking forgiveness for what I’ve done, father. I’m asking forgiveness for what I’m about to do.”

Netflix first announced the production of Daredevil

back in November 2013 (along with three other Marvel-themed shows as well as a miniseries based on the superhero team The Defenders). Disney started its $200 million, New York City-based production of the program (along with those three other marvel series) soon after. To whet fans’ appetites for Daredevil, the streaming service then dropped some preview images of the Daredevil suit and Murdock’s lawyer attire at New York Comic Con in October 2014.

Netflix has set April 10, 2015 as Daredevil’s release date on the streaming platform. We’ll have to wait and see if the SVOD company’s first TV series with Marvel will live up to the comic book company’s massive success with its other intellectual properties on the big screen.
