WARNING: Game of Thrones spoilers ahead. If you are not yet caught up with the TV show, read on at your own risk.
Oberyn Martell is coming to Netflix. Pedro Pascal, the breakout star of the fourth season of Game of Thrones, has joined the cast of Narcos, Netflix‘s upcoming crime drama.
Pascal has had a 15-year career in TV, but he did not become a household until he portrayed the flamboyant and hot-blooded prince of Dorne on HBO’s hugely popular fantasy series. His gruesome death in the fourth season’s eighth episode has sent shockwaves across the Internet, inspired a plethora of funny pictures, and left the Chilean-American actor in search of a new role.
Enter Netflix. As first reported by Deadline, Pascal has landed a starring role in Narcos, which will tell the story of notorious Colombian kingpin Pablo Escobar. Pascal will play a Mexican DEA agent who is sent to Colombia to capture Escobar, who will be portrayed by Elite Squad star Wagner Moura. Jose Padilha, the skilled director of Elite Squad, will be behind the camera in what is quickly becoming one of Netflix’s most talent-rich original series.
Narcos will arrive on Netflix in 2015. Hopefully, this time, Pascal will make sure his enemies are dead before he begins to monologue.
