J.J. Abrams Uses Omaze To Offer Cameo In ‘Star Wars VII’

The cast of the upcoming Star Wars sequel has been set, but at least one role is still up for grabs. In a video released on the official Star Wars YouTube channel, director J.J. Abrams has offered up a cameo role in Star Wars VII to one lucky winner who will be chosen through Omaze.

As Abrams explains, the winner will be flown to London, where he or she will get to appear in a scene in the newest Star Wars film. The much-awaited continuation of George Lucas’ epic saga is slated for a December 2015 release.

Fans can enter the competition by purchasing virtual “raffle tickets” on Omaze. The proceeds from each ticket will go toward Force for Change, a new charity supporting UNICEF. Force for Change was launched through a $1 million dollar contribution by Disney, the studio that is producing the Star Wars sequel trilogy.

Abrams and Disney are only the latest big names using Omaze, which lets celebrities crowdfund for charities in exchange for rewards. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mary Louise Parker are among the site’s other users.

The Force for Change fundraiser ends on July 18th. May the Force be with those who enter their names.
