SpaceX’s Reusable Rocket Test Gets 2.4 Million Views In Three Days

Elon Musk‘s SpaceX just tested out a reusable rocket with the whole world as its audience. On April 18th, the space transport company posted a video showing off its F9R rocket, and it has gone viral, receiving more than 2.4 million views in three days.

The video runs just under two minutes and shows the Falcon 9 Reusable (F9R) in action. The rocket takes off, rises 250 meters above the ground, and then slowly descends to the surface before gently touching down where it took off. Some commenters think the video is fake (it’s not), but that hasn’t stopped it from amassing several million views.

SpaceX first launched its YouTube channel in November 2008, with rocket tests serving as the most popular video type. Ten months ago, the channel showed off a different reusable rocket called the Grasshopper; that video is SpaceX’s most viewed to date, scoring more than 3.4 million views. Your move, NASA.
