YouTube Vlogger Lohanthony Hosts MTV’s ‘Teen Wolf’ After Show

A popular YouTube vlogger is turning his passion into a gig with MTV. Anthony Spears, who creates videos under the name Lohanthony, has been tapped as the host of the Teen Wolf After, After Show, a companion program for MTV’s Teen Wolf.

The first episode of Teen Wolf After, After Show responds to the debut episode of the second half of Teen Wolf’s third season, which aired on January 6th. Spears and co-host Morgan Evans will discuss the events of the teen-oriented MTV hit that has previously spawned several other web companions. In many ways, Spears will do for Teen Wolf what Chris Hardwick has done for The Walking Dead through his Talking Dead TV companion.

Spears, who is partnered with Fullscreen, is one of YouTube’s youngest stars. He is just 14 years old but already has more than 830,000 subscribers on YouTube and more than a million followers on both Twitter and Instagram

. He is the exact sort of host who MTV wants interacting with Teen Wolf‘s young audience. Here’s his video announcing the new gig:

“We wanted to bring Lohanthony’s enthusiasm and energy into the new Teen Wolf After, After Show. He is our target demographic, but more importantly, we appreciated that as a fan himself, he speaks as the voiceof community and connects with others around the show, “ said Matt McDonough, Senior Manager of Social Marketing at MTV. “We find ourselves shifting toward working with Fullscreen’s new class of talented online creators because they reflect our target demographic while authentically bridging our content with their entertainment experience.”

Like Daym Drops, Lohanthony has managed rub shoulders with traditional media just by being passionate about the subjects he enjoys. You can check out his after show over on the MTV website.
