Buckle Your Seatbelts: Rob Ford Is Planning A Web Series

Toronto’s hard-partying, crack-smoking, football-throwing mayor is coming to a computer screen near you. Rob Ford, who has recently made headlines as his own City Council attempts to remove him from power will star in a web series. Ford’s ridiculous behavior makes him the perfect subject for his own reality show, and that is exactly what we’re going to get. Rob and his brother Doug (the Toronto City Councilor) are planning their own web series set to debut “before Christmas.”

The web series will be titled Ford Nation and will feature open chatter between the two brothers, all broadcast to YouTube. “I want it to look professional, but simple … like Rob and I,” said Doug Ford. “The lovers are going to follow it, and the haters are going to follow it.”

Rob Ford previously hosted a Canadian TV series of the same name, which drew huge ratings but was canceled after just one episode. On the Internet, Ford won’t have to worry about nearly as many regulations.

You can’t blame Ford for attempting the seize the spotlight during his 15 minutes of fame. Ford Nation can serve as both his mouthpiece and, should he commit any more verbal gaffes, more fodder for the late-night comedians.

Whenever Ford Nation does debut, expect a large audience. Perhaps Rob Ford will find that YouTube stardom is his new calling. Since he may not be mayor for much longer, it’s a good idea for him to develop additional ways to spend his time.
