‘Epic Rap Battles Of History’ Returns With Hitler Vs. Vader III, RayWJ

Like an old friend returning to town, Epic Rap Battles of History has returned to YouTube. Nicepeter and EpicLloyd have released the debut episode of the third season of their hugely popular series and the first since a quintet of Russians finished off season two back in late April.

In holding true to tradition, season three began with an evil showdown between Darth Vader and Adolf Hitler. To spice things up, the ERB team brought in KassemG as Lando Calrissian and provided viewers with a guest verse from prominent YouTube creator RayWilliamJohnson. RayWJ’s take on Boba Fett is pretty fresh, though not as fresh as his guest verse on Destorm’s King Kong mixtape.

As always, the ERB announcer asks viewers “Who won? You decide!” This time, since the battle ends with Vader bisecting his Nazi foe, I feel like Peter and Lloyd have made that choice for us. If the ending is to be believed, this season three rubber match will be the last showdown between the series’ two signature characters.

ERB will soon surpass 700 million views on its main channel to go along with 7.3 subscribers. Of the channels that aren’t VEVO accounts or official YouTube feeds, it has the eighth-largest audience.

There will be much more season three to come. Eleven more episodes are on the way, and while we still don’t know which figures will get on the mic, I’m still holding out hope for the long-rumored Hillary Clinton vs. Henry VIII battle. No matter which direction ERB goes, I will watch. It is a series I am glad to have back.
