Must-Watch Music Videos: ARMS Go Walkabout In Search Of ‘Comfort’

[Editor’s Note: Two major trends have emerged in the recent history of new media: 1) Music videos are the new music and 2) YouTube is the new MTV. With that in mind and to keep you up to speed with the greatest and latest in this online video category, Tubefilter has partnered with INDMUSIC, YouTube’s largest independent music network, to bring you at least one must-watch music video every week. Founded by ex-Harlem Shakes (no, not that Harlem Shake) guitarist Todd Goldstein, Brooklyn indie rockers ARMS have been blowing up the NY music scene of late.  They’ve dropped a stellar new video for their track ‘Comfort‘ off their latest release EP2, and it’s definitely not one to miss. Shot in and around Manhattan and Brooklyn, from Madison Square Park to Williamsburg to Rockaway and Prospect Park, the video, like the track, is kinetic and jumpy.  That is, it quite literally starts in one spot and takes you somewhere totally different–much like the song’s melodic intro, which leads into the furious dueling guitars that finish off “Comfort.”

The video also takes unique advantage of the scenery of the city, featuring a memorable art installation that was a big hit among New Yorkers this spring and summer.  Out on upstart BrooklynPaper Garden, the band is sure to get a lot more attention in the coming months.  With CMJ about to take over New York City, the band is set to play a ton of shows in support of its new release, so make sure you check out a live set if you’re in the city.  In the meantime, listen to more from the band here and keep up with upcoming releases from Paper Garden here.
