The crown jewel of Crackle‘s originals library is back. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, the hybrid talk/comedy/documentary show starring Jerry Seinfeld and a host of funny people, has begun its second season. The first episode, featuring Sarah Silverman, has been released across Crackle’s various distribution platforms.
The Silverman episode shows that Comedians in Cars is, for better or for worse, the same as before. It is funny because the people involved in it are funny, but it also contains an air of celebrity self-indulgence, especially when Seinfeld discusses the luxury of the ‘69 Jaguar featured in the episode. Of course, Seinfeld is fully aware of that air, and plays it for laughs, as he does with the Acura product placement
now peppered throughout his show.Embedding is disabled, but you can watch the episode here.
Comedians In Cars will run for 24 episodes; six will be released over the next few weeks while the other 18 will be spread out, debuting later in the year and in 2014. As with the last season, where the strongest episodes featured fascinating characters such as Mel Brooks and Michael Richards, Comedians in Cars will go as far as its guest stars will take it.
