Conan O’Brien (And His Hair) Bowl Against Chris Hardwick On Nerdist

What do you get when two award show hosts decide to partake in spirited athletic competition? The answer is revealed in the latest episode of Nerdist‘s All-Star Celebrity Bowling, where upcoming Streamy Awards host Chris Hardwick (February 17th at 3 PST!) and his Nerdists do battle against three-time Emmy host/late night funnyman Conan O’Brien and his Conanites.

Conan is joined by his right hand man, Andy Richter, who would’ve made a great team had he been playing with three other versions of himself. As it stands, his job is to stand around eating turkey pastrami sandwiches while his three teammates slowly but surely get better at bowling. In the last frame, we see all of Richter’s teammates hit crucial shots, with no sign of his own bowling skills. I think he ate too much deli meat.

In the end, Team Coco emerged victorious, sending Hardwick to a rare defeat. The true hero for Conan’s side is Jimmy Pardo, who does stand up on Conan but has bowling loyalties to Nerdist thanks to his Write Now show on the channel. In the end, his first frame solidarity gutterball ended up decisive; the final margin was just a single pin.

Hardwick didn’t seem too upset about the loss, and this episode as many laughs as any All-Star Celebrity Bowling showdown ever. Between Conan berating Hardwick for his #HumbleBrag ways, Conan beating up his head writer no matter what, and Conan constantly calling out Pardo for being a traitor, this one is worth the watch.
