RZA Stops By Maker Studios, Fills In On ‘=3’, Dishes Out Rap Lessons

Wu Tang Clan co-founder RZA has always had a commanding screen presence; I love his bit part alongside Bill Murray in Jim Jarmusch’s Coffee and Cigarettes. Now, nine years after that little cameo, RZA is directing his own film, a martial arts movie called The Man With The Iron Fists. As part of the promotional tour, RZA recently stopped by Maker Studios to freestyle through their studios, hang out with some of the Internet’s biggest stars and appear as a guest in at least two web series.

RZA made an appearance on Ray William Johnson‘s =3 and presented several viral videos from the previous few weeks. His confident presence allows him to speak lines like “I can count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 motherf**kers luckier than this motherf**ker” and somehow make them sounds informative.

RZA also stopped by on Chunk Dirty, a Maker-signed web series that parodies mainstream rap acts such as Soulja Boy and Waka Flocka Flame. RZA’s appearance

humorously juxtaposes his personal rap style against the dumb, inane lyrics of the two main characters, who call themselves the “best rappers alive“. Though the video, we get a look into RZA’s personal rap philosophy.

RZA isn’t the first rapper to team up with Maker. Earlier this summer, they announced a partnership with Snoop Dogg, and he appeared at Maker to burned one with some of the studio’s brightest stars. He hasn’t been around since then, presumably because he’s too busy changing his name to Snoop Lion and making weird lists about why to not vote for Mitt Romney.

The Man With the Iron Fists is RZA’s first feature film directorial credit, and it will be released on November 5. If you’re curious about it, then checking out RZA’s visit to Maker is an easy way to figure out if his style is up your alley.
